Tracy Glenda Lewis

(nee: WOODROW)

October 24, 1968 - July 1, 2002

Tracy lost her hard fought battle with cancer in Vancouver General Hospital’s Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. Saddened by their loss are her devoted husband and soul-mate Robert Lewis, parents Rick & Hilda Woodrow, sister Sarah & fiancŽ Colby Friesen, aunts and uncles: Larri & Katherine Woodrow (Langley), Mark Woodrow & Debbie Jesse, Gail & Don Wensley (Whistler), Gehard & Leone Harms (California), Herman & Gina Harms, Otto & Marlena Harms, Ursel & Tom Bachmeier, Hanna & Gunter Von Kampen, numerous cousins and relatives locally and worldwide, and her new “in-laws” Wallace & Lynn Lewis, Cameron & Dea Lewis, and Aunt Marg & Sam Brown. Missing Tracy are her canine buddies Keefer and Jo.

Tracy was predeceased by her grandparents Otto & Alma Harms and Richard (Dick) & Joy (Babe) Woodrow. A descendent of the pioneer families McKenzie & Stewart, who arrived in Comox in 1873, and the Otto Harms family from Germany in 1953, Tracy was born in Vancouver and moved to the Valley when her parents returned in the early 1970’s. She graduated from Geo. P. Vanier High in 1986 and in June 1998 fulfilled her goal, graduating from Malaspina/U.Vic. with a Bachelor of Education Degree. Tracy taught within School District 71 until her illness prevented her from attending in January.

Passionate about life, a lover of nature, Tracy was well-known for her involvement in CRA swimming, fast-pitch ball, skiing, soccer and in her earlier years, Highland Dance Competitions and recitals with her Grammie, Joy Woodrow. But, closest to her heart were her home, her family, her pets and her garden.

A Reflection of Tracy’s Life was held Sunday, July 7th, 2002 in the gardens of Filberg Lodge, and later spilled over to the gardens of her parent’s home in Royston.

Fly, fly little wing -

Fly where only angels sing

Fly away, the time is right

Go now, find the light
