In loving memory ~

Craig loved life and he lived his 70 years to their fullest.

We never know how long we'll have on this planet, yet we all expected our strong, healthy, physically active Craig to be with us much longer. His incredible streak of things going well has come to an end due to an overnight heart event. His family expresses their sincere gratitude to the Merville and Black Creek Fire Halls and Courtenay Ambulance First Responders and the ICU team at Comox Valley Hospital for their skills, dedication, and compassion.

Craig was born in Alberta but spent most of his life in the Comox Valley where he grew up with his parents, Rae and Keith, and siblings, Kerry (Linda) and Torri. In the '80's he settled in Merville with his wife, Patti Woolsey. They built a home and life together; raised their children Marty (Laraine) and Holly (Wayne); and welcomed grandchildren Calvin and Dylan.

His abundant energy was fueled by the things he loved: building and problem solving; movement and being outdoors; adventure and exploration; reading, learning, and sharing; family, friends, and community. His career as a builder (Custom Log Homes and ICF) was a wonderful way of bringing together all of these things. He knew how to have fun and built community and connections through circus, parades, acroyoga, Vaudeville, performing, dog agility and in the snow, on the water, in the woods, at Music Fest, the annual Woolsey-Seale Corn Roast and much more. Craig was always ready to support family, friends, and strangers whenever a helping hand was needed.

Craig is lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family, dear friends, and community.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday the 8th of September from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with an informal gathering at the Merville Hall. All who knew Craig are invited to bring their memories and contribute to our collection of stories or leave your story on the Tribute Wall of the Toneff website.

If you wish to make a contribution in Craig's memory, consider offering your time and skills at a place, organization, or charity where you and he had a shared connection.
