Bachmeier, Thomas
Resident of Black Creek passed away suddenly February 12, 2003 at the age of 73
Thomas was born April 4th, 1929, in the village of Markt Schwaben, Germany where he spent the first twenty-three years of his life before immigrating to Canada in 1952.
Upon arrival in Winnipeg, he worked his way across Northern Canada with the railroad before landing a job with a roofing company in Calgary. From there he was off to Kitimat where he met his future wife Ursula, and found employment with Alcan Aluminum.
Tom and Ursula were married, and in 1960 they moved with their three children to Black Creek, where they purchased a hobby farm. After four years working for Elk River Logging, Tom was hired on at Crown Zellerbach Elk Falls Mill, where he worked for twenty-nine years upon his retirement in 1994.
Thomas was predeceased by his mother, father, sister, and two brothers.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife Ursula, and seven children: Darlene, Thomas, Rita (Peter), Susan (Rick), Gary (Debbie), Randy and Greg; grandchildren: (Crystal), (Ashley, Tyler, and Jesse), (Darryl and Nicole), (Katrina, Tommy, Anastasia, and Nicholas); his sister Veronica from Germany, and many friends and relatives. He will be greatly missed. He was loved by all.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 PM on February 23rd, 2003 at Black Creek Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
