McLENNAN - Thomas Alexander (Mac or Alex), 1933-2002. An absolutely committed and dedicated family man and a kind and gentle spirit. He was extremely proud to have been a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, and especially of the Air Traffic Control Trade. A cowboy at heart, Alex loved the great outdoors, with his roots on the family farm in Binscarth, Manitoba. Chaotic was his household, as the door was always wide open for anyone to come through; so much better if your brought pets or a topic to debate!!! He convinced us that black was really white. Alex valued the simple things in life, his favorite expressions being “Keep the costs down”, or “I will do it later”. His favorite achievements of many were his 3 Holes in One; How could anyone think that he was a “Lousy Golfer?” Alex moves on to join his Father, Mother, three Sisters, also his Mother and Father-in-law. Alex leaves behind his wife Mary of 47 years; son Robert (Kathleen); 3 daughters, Patricia (Ian), Terry (Rene) and Lisa (Liam); 2 baby grandsons Diego and Miguel; six step-grandchildren and his brother Don. While surrounded by his family, Alex died on Tuesday, May 21st, 2002 at St. Joseph’s Hospital due to complications stemming from Pulmonary Fibrosis. Dear Alex, Mac, Dad, Gran Pa and Friend, we shall live the rest of our lives with so many cherished memories. Thank You. A private family gathering was held on May 23rd, 2002 from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES. A Celebration of Alex’s life will be held at a later date, where friends will be welcome to attend. A brief newspaper notice will follow. In lieu of flowers, please spend some quality time with your family.
