Hunt, Stephen Colin
Stephen Colin Hunt died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on March 9, 2006, after a long illness. Steve was a man of many talents.Â
He had a love for life and was always trying to stretch his horizons.  He was a Vietnam Veteran; he served as president of the Vancouver Island Chapter of Vietnam Veterans and spoke to local high school students about his Vietnam experiences.  He had a deep affinity for the ocean and was in his element living and working on boats, including service with Green Peace. His other passion was music. He worked as an organizer with the Renaissance Faires and MusicFest. He worked with local bands as a sound technician. He also enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Georges United Church. Steve served with the Valley’s Ground Search and Rescue Group, and volunteered with the Comox Valley Food Bank.
Steve is lovingly survived by his father Bob (Judy), his mother Lee (Bill) and his brother Jon, his  sons Casey and Michael, his niece and nephews, and wife Fern. He will be missed by his friends and associates across the continent. The family would like to thank Dr. Fehlau, the nurses and doctors at St. Joseph’s, the Community Health Care Unit and his many good friends for providing care and support.
At his request, Steve will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, please donate cash or non-perishable food to the C.V. Food Bank in his memory. A Celebration of his life will be held on March 31 at St. George’s United Church Hall at 3:00 p.m. with potluck to follow.Â
Finally, Steve’s words he wanted shared:
“My friends, do not grieve too long. I am still amongst you. As long as you remember me, I remain your friend.
It’s been fun!!”Â
