Elless - Shirley Louise of Courtenay, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph鈥檚 Hospital on Sunday, August 11th, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her mother Betty Evans, Shirley is survived by her father Roy (Sandy) Evans of Campbell River; her companion Ben McLaren of Courtenay; sons Colin andCody; daughter Heather; sister Joyce (Mike) Austin of Cumberland; nephew Joe and nieces Krystle, Brittany and Jessica. She was a very creative person who enjoyed writing poetry, flowers, taking walks on the beach and was well-known for her love of animals. Shirley will be sadly missed and remembered forever by her family and many friends. Following cremation a graveside interment and 鈥淐elebration of Her Life鈥� will take place on Saturday, August 17, 11:00 a.m. at Cumberland Municipal Cemetery.
