Edgley, Shirley Louise, born May 31, 1934 in Vancouver, B.C. passed away May 3, 2002 from complications of kidney failure at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria. She was predeceased by her husband James in October 2001 and missed him dearly. She was a treasured mother and grandmother to her daughters and their families, Louise Foster, her husband Neil and children Daniel, Amber and David of Calgary and Randa Wekwert, her husband Siggi and their daughter Twyla of Comox. Shirley was born in Vancouver, where she met and fell in love with her husband James, they later moved to Kitimat where she worked hard inside and outside of the home to raise their family. From childhood to adulthood, she always made her home a warm and welcome place to come home to and left us with many good memories of delicious family meals and happy times together. Their retirement brought them to the Comox Valley where they continued on this warm tradition in their country home until ill health brought them to Victoria, where she began dialysis at the Royal Jubilee for her kidney failure. She came to be known as the “candy lady” to the nurses and patients at the dialysis clinic who became like a second family to her and I think came to love her as we did. She never gave up even though her health got worse she always had a smile. She was a little bit of sunshine that will live on in the hearts of those whose path she crossed. Rest peacefully mom. Memorial service will be held at Central Care: 844 Johnson Street, Victoria, Monday, May 13th at 11.
