Shelley passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2023, surrounded by friends, following a short struggle with cancer.

Shelley was pre-deceased by her husband Jim Rogers, in January 2013.

Shelley is survived by her brother Tom (Karen) and their children Jennifer, Jeffrey and Sara, her brother Bob (Kristine) and their children Emma, Scott and Erik, her sister Ann, her sister Valerie (Paul) Flahr and their children Virginia and Tom.

Shelley was born in Cochrane, Ontario, a 3lb 5oz "preemie". In those days it was oxygen in an incubator and hope and pray. Well her mom prayed and read her bible, thus the middle name Ruth.

She lived her first 9 years at Abitibi Canyon. She then lived in Haileybury Ontario through high school. She went on to study nursing at George Brown College in Toronto. She enjoyed a long and successful career in nursing in Toronto, North Bay, Vancouver and Comox, BC. predominantly in ICU and recovery room.

She and her husband Jim shared strong interests in golf, sailing, tennis, travelling and golden retrievers. Shelley and Jim were devoted to Kyle and Player. Most recently Shelley rescued a flat coat retriever named Charcoal from Turkey.

A private gathering to celebrate her life was held in Comox, BC.
