In loving memory ~
Brave, strong in spirit and thinking of others to the end Shareen passed away from cancer with dignity and surrounded by family.
Shareen was born in London England, the beloved daughter of Dick and Hanna Stuart, and sister to Richard and Robert. She attended an all-girls school and made lifelong friends there. Many of her summers were spent with her mother's extended family in meadows and farmyards in the Austrian Alps. Her family emigrated to Toronto Canada in 1979 where Shareen attended U of T and after graduating she met her future husband Paul while playing volleyball at the YMCA. They married in 1986 and moved to Nova Scotia to be close to Paul's family. In 1990 her son Taisto was born, and in 1993 Shareen, Paul and Taisto moved to Vancouver Island and settled in Comox. Shareen worked at the Town Hall in Comox and at CUPE in Courtenay.
Friends and family were Shareen's biggest passions. She was dearly loved by her aunts, uncles and cousins in England and elsewhere. Shareen gave wise and measured advice to many and was thought to have an 'old soul'.
She also loved many loyal pets. She was proud of her husband's achievements in construction and of her son who is doing his Ph.D. at McGill in Montreal. Generous, caring and kind, Shareen loved and was loved by so many who were lucky enough to know her.
