Russ, our beloved husband and dad, passed away peacefully in the Comox Valley Hospital on December 16 surrounded by his wife, Jo Anne, his daughters Tracy and Tara and son-in-law, James. Russ was born on March 26, 1944, in Jansen, SK., the youngest child of Daniel and Annie Sukut. Besides his wife and daughters, Russ is survived by his brother Gordon and predeceased by his brother Leslie Sukut.
Russ will forever be remembered for his unyielding pride in many things: his Saskatchewan farming heritage; his long, storied career with the RCMP; his smart, successful daughters; and most importantly, the life he and Jo Anne built together for 56 years. His happiest times were spent travelling with her throughout Canada and the U.S. showing their beloved CKC show dogs under the kennel name 'Apsis' and homesteading their idyllic property in Black Creek, B.C. where they built their dream home and spent 30 peaceful years surrounded by supportive neighbours and friends.
