ROSE MANGLES WYLIE

Of Courtenay passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Monday, June 16th, 2003. She was predeceased by parents George and Susan Lapp and brothers John, Phil, Bob and Dick. Mom was also predeceased by first husband, John (Ted) Mangles and husband Martin (Bill) Wylie as well as great-granddaughter Sophie Slater. Mom is lovingly survived by children Valerie (George) Noble of Woss, Kathy (Tom) Slater of Courtenay, Shelley (Bill) Merrifield of Royston, John (Cheryl) Mangles of Courtenay, Wayne (Melinda) Mangles of Cumberland and stepchildren Gary (Manula) Wylie of Calgary, Les (Colleen) Wylie of Courtenay. Rose will be sadly missed by 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, three brothers, seven sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Rose was born in Victoria, B.C. on February 14, 1930 and moved to the Comox Valley as a young girl where she met and married Ted. Besides raising five children Rose worked outside the home in various hospitality and retail businesses. Mom enjoyed many things in life, she especially found great pleasure and enjoyment in her family and will be dearly missed by all she touched in life.
A Service of Remembrance in Celebration of Rose’s Life was held on Thursday, June 19th, 2003 at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD, Courtenay at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ross Fox officiating. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, a donation in Mom’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Comox Valley Hospice, Y.A.N.A. or charity of one’s choice.
