In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Rose on September 26th, 2023, joking and laughing with her loved ones right to the end.

Rose was born and raised in the Comox Valley where she formed many friendships throughout her life. She was known for a laugh that filled a room and for welcoming friends, family, strangers, and pets with open arms. Her home was the kind of place that attracted many and her door was always open with baked goods often on hand. Her skill in the kitchen knew no bounds. She was an amazing cook, forever showing her love through cooking. Her forte was her desire and ability to feed the masses. Friends, family, coworkers, and book clubbers know what we mean.

She was a talented quilter and seamstress, a wonderful gardener, and a collector of unique jewelry - a passion that likely stemmed from her many years of working at Francis Jewellers. After retiring, she landed another dream job at Fabricland reigniting her love for quilting and sewing.

Rose was a loving soul whose friends and family knew to count on no matter what, a natural caregiver who was always taking care of somebody, be it human or four-legged. She didn't differentiate between family connected by blood and family connected by love - whatever way we came to her, we all felt her love and support.

She was a force to be reckoned with and she will be missed immensely.

Rose was predeceased by parents Arthur (Spit) and Cora Quinn, and sister Karen Jamieson. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry; daughters Kirsten (Willy Pimlott), Jodi (Kevin McLellan), and "adopted" children Brad (Regan) Jamieson, Tara Conroy, and Gail (Stan) Herman; brother John (Janet) Quinn; grandchildren Livia, Ty, Cuin, Veda, Gwen, Paxton, Kaleb, Owen, Linden and Raine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We would especially like to thank Dr. Nancy McFadden and Dr. Reggler for their care.

Thank you for remembering Rose, but we ask that you give a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA in her memory rather than send flowers.
