Beal - Ronald Edward of Comox, passed away suddenly at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Sunday, May 12th, 2002 at age 69. Ron is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Vivian; son Bryan Edward (Loretta) Beal of Carstairs, Alberta; daughter Brenda Louise (Tom) Purves of Nepean, Ontario; grandchildren Krista, Keegan, Brock, Kyle, Kurt, Jennifer and TJ, as well as his mother-in-law Ella Whittet. Ron joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1954 and served through 1985, retiring as Major. He was with the CF SRS Branch, Comm. Research and acted as Commanding Officer of Masset, Queen Charlottes. His other postings included Coverdale, Ottawa, Churchill, Inuvik, Victoria and Kingston. In his leisure, Ron was an avid birdwatcher who also enjoyed curling, photography, volkswalking and was active with the Evergreen Seniors. He will be dearly missed as well by his many friends and those he came to know.
A Service of Remembrance in Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 17th at 2 p.m. from the CHAPEL of COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD, with fellowship and refreshments to follow in the “Garden Room” of the funeral home.
