Robert Lyle Jarvis passed away peacefully in Comox, B.C. on February 2nd, 2006. He was predeceased by his mother Gladys and his brother Jack. Bob is survived and will be lovingly missed by his wife Rita, his sons; Richard (Lynn) of Dawson Creek, Robert (Ann) of Kelowna, Douglas (Nola) of Osoyoos and Kenneth (Michelle) of Courtenay; his daughter Carol (Bill) McDonald of Courtenay; 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his brother Tom (Mary) Craven of Bellevue, Alberta; his sister Elaine (Reg) Scottney of Lethbridge, Alberta. Bob spent 22 years of service both in the Army and the Air Force with 3 years of active wartime service during WWII as a tank commander who was decorated several times. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Past Grand Knight. He was active in community charities through Canadian Martyr’s Parish. Bob was a Comox Valley entrepreneur who owned and operated Comox Radio / TV from 1967 to 1988. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an active curler until the age of 86 in the Comox Valley Curling Club. Prayers were offered on Friday, February 3rd, 2006 at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, February 4th with Father Paul Murphy celebrant. If friends so wish donations in Bob’s memory made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation through the Bank of Nova Scotia in Courtenay would be appreciated
