Lawlor, Robert (Bob) Lloyd
8 June 1929 - 9 April 2004
Sadly, after years of ill health, Bob Lawlor passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of 9 April, 2004. Born and raised in the Comox Valley, he moved to Powell River in 1957 together, with his wife June and children. In 1978, he and his family returned to the Comox Valley where he lived until declining health led him to spend his last years at ‘Lake View Care Centre’, Vancouver, B.C.
He was predeceased by his wife June on June 14, 1994. Bob is survived by his five children: George, Debbie, Laurie, Shelley and Robert, as well as his 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Through his work in the forests of B.C. as a logging contractor, he made many friends and passed on a lifetime of experience and skills to many. His warm personality and generous spirit meant that he believed nobody was a stranger, just a friend he hadn’t met yet. Bob was cremated privately in Vancouver. He will be sadly missed by those who loved and knew him and they are invited to join family and friends at The Silver Room, Crown Ilse, 399 Club House Drive, Courtenay, B.C. at 10am Friday, 30 April 2004 to honour and recount Bob’s life.
