In loving memory ~
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Bob Lannan.
He was predeceased by his parents Brian and Evelyn, and younger brother Ron. He is survived by his wife Karen, daughter Stephanie (James), sister Sharon Morrison, and many inlaws, nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Tofino, spent his childhood in Calgary, then his teenage years in Comox with his Dad being posted to the RCAF base. He then moved back to Calgary to further his education and work at the Calgary Herald, under the mentorship of his favourite uncle Orrin. He moved to Vancouver to work as a linotype machinist in 1967, where he met Karen and they married in 1969. They then travelled extensively before Stephanie was born, taking a 'Round the World' trip in 1971 - 72. Getting to know other cultures and customs was important to him.
He was an accomplished sculptor, enjoyed dabbling in many other art forms, and could fix almost anything. After moving as a family to Comox in 1996, Bob was a member of the Classic Cruisers car club for many years and enjoyed being in the parades and driving the grads around in his convertible.
After many years of illness, Bob left us at his chosen time, using the help of MAiD, with Stephanie and Karen by his side.
There will be a Celebration of Bob's Life at a later date.
