Bob Miller passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with his family by his side on March 25, 2003 at the age of 86.

Bob (lovingly known as Grampy) is survived by his cherished wife of 59 years, Barbara; his sons Gary (Heather) and Bryan (Karen) and his beloved grandchildren, Kristan, Tara and Brenda of Nanaimo and West Vancouver. He is also survived by his sister Peggy Day (Louis) of Edmonton, Alberta.

Bob joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in May, 1940 and retired in late 1971 with the rank of Brigadier General. Among his many postings, a highlight of his career was his service as Commanding Officer of R.C.A.F. Station Comox from 1958 to 1962. Bob and Barbara enjoyed a long and happy retirement in Nanaimo where he often indulged in his favorite past-time, fishing.

A private family service was held on March 28, 2003 at First Memorial Services in Nanaimo. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the B.C. Cancer Society.

Bob will long be remembered as a man of honour and integrity.
