racicot - Robert Bertrand “Bob: of Courtenay (formerly of Lantzville), died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Monday, July 7, 2003 with his wife Joyce and 3 of his daughters by his side. Predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother, he is survived by Joyce, his wife of 56 years; daughters Lynn (Robert) Bate of Cumberland, Janice (Robert) Stefanson of Comox, Roberta (Barrie) Morris of Ladysmith, Cheryl (Stephen) Connolly of Ft. McMurray, Alberta and Heather (Jordan) McBean of Calgary; 10 grandchildren Tracey, Terri (James), Mike, Lori, Shelly (Matt), Kerri (Bill), Lindsay, Bryanna, Kristin and Benjamin; 4 great grandchildren, Taylor, Tiagh, Alexander and Marlee as well as nieces and nephews.
Bob served with the Royal Canadian Navy during World War Two and following the war, joined the RCAF, serving until he retired from CFB Comox in 1970. He then worked as a driver with Island Coach Lines until retiring in 1984. Bob was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Comox and Lantzville, the Nanaimo Yacht Club and volunteered for sometime at the Military Museum in Nanaimo. Special thanks to Cumberland Day Care, the Home Care Nurses, Doctor David Brailey, Chaplain Gordon Carter and the staff on 2nd floor, St. Joseph’s Hospital for their kindness and exceptional care.
