Kirkham, Richard (Dick)

Dick Kirkham, of Courtenay, passed away peacefully on May 13th, at the Extended Care Unit, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, where he had been a resident for the past several months. He would have been 94 years old in July.

Born at Tipton, Staffordshire, in England, Dick spent his adult life on Vancouver Island, where he worked in the forest industry, then later as a front-end mechanic for Corfield Motors and then Seale and Thompson Garage in Courtenay. Dick was a busy useful man, who enjoyed his home with his dog and cats. He was renovating his house right up until hospitalized last fall.

Dick leaves no immediate family. He is survived by his cousins, Lillian Francis (Harry), of Kamloops, and Bert Kirkham (Lorraine), of Victoria.

Dick will be remembered at the St. Joseph’s Hospital Extended Care Memorial SDervice, on Friday, June 9th, at 2:00pm.
