Wedel - Reuben Ali passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 19, 2003 in a construction worksite accident in his 22nd year. Reuben was born on July 6, 1981 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Reuben is survived by his loving mother, Seema Kauser Wedel; father, Randall F. Wedel; sister, Yasmeen D. Wedel; and numerous relatives living in Canada, Pakistan, and USA. Reuben grew up and went to school in Courtenay, BC , and attended the University of Victoria in 2000-01. He worked at Mt. Washington Ski Resort for several winters. In 2002-03 he lived and worked in Vancouver. Reuben will be remembered for his loving, kind, sincere, and outgoing nature. He made hundreds of friends wherever he went. He wished well for everyone. Reuben loved life and was passionate about whatever he did. He particularly enjoyed people and outdoor activities. Words cannot express the deep loss felt by his family and the many people who knew him well. A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 24th at the Al Zahra Center in Richmond, BC.
