BOREHAM, Reginald (Reg) Boreham

Reg passed away on September 10, 2005 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife Bessie Elizabeth of 58 years; his four children: Brenda, Pam, Alan and Joanne; a large extended family in England and friends.

Born in London, England, Reg first came to Canada in 1943 to take his flight training. He spent his years of active duty in Southeast Asia as a W.O./Navigator for the R.A.F. After the war he joined the London Metropolitan Police Force as a “Bobby”.

In 1957 Reg and Bess immigrated to Canada with their young family. After being stationed with the R.C.A.F. in Winnipeg and Gimli, Manitoba the family moved to Courtenay in 1964. Reg worked for many years at Courtenay Electronics and Courtenay Electric before ending his working career as a Fisheries Patrol Officer.

In his retirement years Reg enjoyed several trips to Hawaii, gardening, reading mysteries and yes … fishing. A walk along the Riverside walkway became part of his daily routine.

We would like to thank the staff and doctors of the I.C.U. at St. Joseph’s General Hospital for their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Streamkeepers. There will be no memorial service by request.
