Phyllis Beatrice

GREENGRASS

Her husband Charles (RCN) and daughter Michele (Stephen) by her side, passed away after a long battle with cancer marked by courage and determination.

Phyllis was born in Calgary, Alberta where she lived until 1949 when she moved to Victoria, B.C. During her early years in Victoria she worked for the Bank of Montreal at the main branch (Yates and Douglas). From 1978 until her death she lived in Courtenay, B.C.

She was predeceased by her brother Stan a serviceman in the RCAF, her father Wilfred Charles 1970 and her mother Beatrice Anne 1979.

Charles and Phyllis had just celebrated their 52nd anniversary full of loving, sharing and caring.

Phyllis was a lady of great dignity — she taught us the true meaning of courage and strength. She lived up to the old adage of treat people as you wish to be treated — never did an unkind word pass her lips. She would always listen and console but would never pry into one’s life. She was proud of the accomplishments of her family and friends and was very protective of them. She loved unconditionally and those that met her felt that way about her.

She loved to travel and had many wonderful experiences during her 73 years.

She was a lady through and through and will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

There will be a Memorial Tea to be held in her honour at the Courtenay Legion on Saturday, September 18th.
