Philip Eugene Yakimchuk

Yakimchuk - Philip Eugene “Phil” of Comox, passed away at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria on Thursday, December 12th, 2002, at age 50. Predeceased by his father Eugene in 1991, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lin; son Tony Yakimchuk of Courtenay; brother Norman Yakimchuk of Bonneville, Alberta; sister Sherry Burnell of Ft. Saskatchewan, Alberta; his mother Margaret McLauglin; special friends Mike Harris and sons of Courtenay and Rick and Chris Hodges and family of Duncan. Phil moved to the Valley in 1977 from Duncan and worked in auto painting and body repair, until ill health forced him to retire in 1991. He was a member of the Comox Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, cars and life in general, which he lived to the fullest.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD on Wednesday, December 18th at 1:00 pm. For those desiring, donations in Phil’s memory, to The Canadian Diabetes Association, Box 3256, Courtenay, B.C. V9N 5N4 or The Kidney Foundation, 320-1600 West 6th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. V6J 9Z9 would be appreciated.
