In loving memory ~

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Peter Donald Watters.

Pete was a loving husband, a devoted father, a wonderful grandfather, a special uncle and a steadfast friend.

Peter was born October 21, 1939 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. His family moved to Vancouver Island in 1943, living in Ucluelet, Duncan, and Holberg, before leaving for Surrey in 1956. He graduated from Queen Elizabeth High School. Pete's heart was always on the Island, he always felt that's where he belonged.

Peter is survived by the love of his life, Annie, with whom he recently celebrated 54 years of marriage; his daughters Annalisa Watters, Christine Katzel (Bryson), Leah Mihalchan (Scott) and Sandra Campbell (Steve), as well as 2 daughters from his first marriage. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren; Evan, Charlie, Annie and Layla, 2 great-granddaughters Charlotte and Mila, many loving nieces and nephews as well as his cousins Robin Watters and Terry Waters. Pete was predeceased by his parents Jim and Mary Watters of 100 Mile House.

Throughout his life he worked in the chainsaw industry starting out in a logging camp and eventually becoming co-owner of Pacific Equipment Ltd., introducing Husqvarna saws to B.C. and the Yukon circa 1972. He suffered a stroke in 1989 which ended his working days, though he slowly recovered and went on to lead a very full life. Pete and Annie had a wonderful life together.
