In Loving Memory ~
Peter will be greatly missed by wife Denise, kids Tara, Cosima, Carly and Brock, grandson Tao and brothers Wesley and Russell. Along with many good friends.
Pete first ran away to sea as a fisherman in the mid-1960s when his lifelong love of the ocean was born. He crewed and captained many vessels, built the still-working Prince of Denmark in 1973, and ended his long career in the Coast Guard.
At age 50, Peter found fellowship with Bill W. During his 30 years of recovery, he grew tremendously. In his last days, it was his greatest joy to hear how much of a difference he made in others' sobriety.
Pete was unabashedly himself, always. No matter how he struggled, he never stopped shining the light of humour on his demons of anger and control. In his later years, he achieved and lived in the gratitude and peace he worked so hard to cultivate.
A voracious lifelong reader, Pete was a perpetual inventor of idiosyncratic witticisms, and people loved to receive his perfectly personalized and often hilarious cards. His smoked fish was legendary and generously bestowed, as was his sublime fruit salad.
If you able, please donate to the Salvation Army in Pete's memory.
Onweird and upweird, cheery bye, keep it silly, love you all over the place.
A Celebration of Life for Peter will take place March 1, 2025 at Royston Hall from 1-3pm.
