In Loving Memory ~

We said goodbye to our beloved Mom, Pearl Nixon Williams (Rusk) on January 11, 16 days prior to her 90th birthday.

Born in Treherne , MB. during the depression, Mom was 7th of 10 children to Elgin & Annie Rusk.

Mom met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Williams at a family wedding, while attending Victoria Hospital Nursing School in Winnipeg. They married after Mom's graduation and were blessed with lots of travelling opportunities thanks to Dad's military career.

Mom & Dad opened their hearts and their home when they adopted three beautiful girls while in Nova Scotia in the 60s. Kathy, Linda (John) and Diane (Mike).

Mom & Dad's retirement took them to the mission field with Wycliffe Bible Translators. They spent many years in Nasuli, in the Philippines, overseeing the daily operations of Wycliffe's Guesthouse, a place for Bible translators to come for meetings and for rest. They also spent 2 years in Featherston, New Zealand. It warms our hearts to hear what tremendous prayer warriors they were and what wonderful surrogate grandparents they were to so many of the children there.

When not knitting (which was seldom) or sewing or cooking, Mom loved the great outdoors! Even in her 70s and 80s, she was a regular on the path up & down Mt Doug, in Victoria. We girls fondly remember the first time (there were several!!) Mom reached her goal of 100 trips up and down Mt Doug in one year!

Mom will be greatly missed by her 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, her precious cat Finnigan, many, many nieces & nephews, and her one surviving sister, Doris.

Mom was a tiny, unique and irrepressible force!! A woman of dry wit, wise counsel, youthful spirit, beautifully knit Afghans and THE most amazing homemade buns!!

For many years Mom has looked forward to the day she would meet her Lord face to face. When Dad went home to be with Him in March, 2017, Mom longed for the day she would be reunited with Dad, and grandson, Tyler.

Dad: wrap Mom in your loving arms and take her dancing!!
