Wainwright, Norman Dixon
1920 ~ 2004
Aged 84 of Comox, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
He was predeceased by his brothers: Jim, Jack, George, Tommy and Gordon, and his sister Alice. Norm is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce; daughter Karen Wainwright; son Allen Wainwright (Gerti); brother Bill Wainwright (Joy); sister Gloria Kirk (Larry); and many nieces and nephews.
Norm served in Canada with the RCAF during World War 2 as an aircraft electrician and with the Canadian Army, retiring from the forces in 1946. He and his family lived for a number of years in Toronto where he worked as a machinist and as a plant co-ordinator for a small manufacturing company. After retiring to the Comox Valley, Norm became an active member of Branch 17, Royal Canadian Legion, Courtenay and Comox Lodge #188, A.F. & A.M. In his leisure he was a tool collector who loved making things. A Masonic Service will be held from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, COURTENAY on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
