In Loving Memory ~

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Nicholas Stanczenko advises that he has passed away.

The last 20 years of his life was lived in the Comox Valley area on Vancouver Island.

Nick's wanderlust began with his birth in Germany. In 1950, via Belgium, Nick and his parents and sister immigrated to Canada, starting a new life in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. This is where his passion for fishing began in the northern lakes fishing with his father and uncles.

As a young man, Nick travelled across Canada to British Columbia and his love for that province began. The lure of the mountains, nature and endless supply of lakes and rivers drew him back there numerous times. Upon retirement, Nick made his permanent home on Vancouver Island.

Nick, you are loved and will be missed.

Nick has been cremated as per his wishes and is one with the island. Donations can be made to your local charity of choice in his memory.

"There's no such thing as a bad day when you're fishing."
