Naomi Hughes passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on June 8, 2002. Husbands Edwin Andrews (1970) and Alick Hughes (1987) predeceased her as well as sister Irma and brother Frank. She is survived by her daughters Carole and Linda, sons-in-law Andy and Phil, grandchildren Roxanne, Kandace, Michael and Kari, great-grandchildren Brendon and Kyndra. She also leaves 2 older sisters, Freda and Bunny, many nieces and nephews and a very special friend Al.
Naomi loved family and social gatherings, and especially enjoyed music and dancing. She also liked to winter in Arizona and enjoyed trips to Laughlin and Las Vegas. She had many friends and enjoyed wining crib games with her best friend.
Naomi worked very hard operating the River View Motel for many years, but took the time to volunteer in the community. She was an active member of the Eastern Star for 50+ years, Rebecca’s and Royal Purple for many years. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, smile and dedication to “Lodge”.
