Myrtle passed away April 29, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, BC. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Morgan; parents: John and Mary McWhirter; infant brother Rodney; brother Doug McWhirter and sister-in-law Hazel. Myrtle is survived by son Ron (Thelma) Morgan of Courtenay; grandchildren: Cheryl (Frank) of Hawaii, Les (Missy) of Georgia, and Jim (Melinda) of Florida; great-grandchildren: Heather (Jamie), Jerry (Stephanie), Heidi, William, Ryan and Frankie; great-great grandchildren: Ethan, Brenna, and Tayah; sister Helen (Dick); brother-in-law Bob Morgan; sisters-in-law: Barb Morgan, Mona Morgan, and Winona Morgan; and many nieces and nephews. Myrtle was born in Redvers, Saskatchewan, then moved to the Wakopa, Manitoba area with her family. She married Bill and they lived in Wakopa until the closing of Morgan’s General Store in 1966. They then lived and worked in Victoria until after Bill’s passing when she moved to Courtenay to live with her only son Ronald and his wife Thelma. Myrtle was an avid sports and bingo fan. She created beautiful needlework, which the family will cherish for years to come. She was much loved and will be dearly missed. Viewing was held on Tuesday and a Graveside Service will be held at the Royal Oak Burial Park, 4673 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC. on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD entrusted with arrangements.
