In loving memory ~

SMITH, Murray Hugh, passed away peacefully at North Island Hospital Courtenay on January 24, 2024.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Carol Tombs and her son Trevor Andrews; sons Malcolm (Valerie Ruud) and Hugh (Valery Idt), grandson Morgan, brother James and sister Loraine Wood.

Murray served with the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years, retiring as a Warrant Officer. He then accepted a position with Canada Life where he spent the remainder of his working career. In his leisure, he enjoyed many hours hunting and fishing.

Murray was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for many years and a proud member of the Masonic Lodge #188, Comox since 1994, rising to the position of Worshipful Master in 2018. His family wishes to express their gratitude to North Island Hospital Courtenay for the care and kindness they provided.

Following cremation, Murray will be interred in the family plot at a later date, in Saskatchewan.
