Muriel, Ora Carlyle

Carlyle, Muriel, Ora - passed away on Tuesday, May 21st, 2002 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 80. Muriel was born in Leroy, Saskatchewan on June 16th, 1921. She was predeceased by her son Norman, sister Elizabeth and brother Dave.


Muriel is survived by her loving husband Burnie of 55 years, sons Don (Elaine) of Queen Charlotte Island, Stan (Rennae) of Port Coquitlam and Owen (Angie) of Errington; grandchildren Cameron, Melanie, Matthew, Andrew, Courtenay, Anthony, Aaron, and Spencer, brothers Andy, Gilbert (Betty), Art (Georgina), George (Janine), sisters Joyce, Louise (Rob) and Bertha, together with many nieces and nephews.


After Muriel graduated, she served in the civil service, and World War II. She was a great wife, mom, grandma, and friend. She loved to play bridge and was a wonderful quilter who belonged to the Evergreen Quilters Club, the Evergreen Seniors Club, and enjoyed crocheting and needlework.


Muriel will be missed by all that knew her, and there will be an empty spot in our hearts.


A Celebration of Muriel’s life will take place on Saturday, May 25th, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD, Courtenay, with the Reverend Ray Brandon officiating.
