September 3, 1931 - October 26, 2024
Our Mother, Mildred Edythe Williams passed away November 26, 2024. Mom (Millie) was born September 3, 1931. She was the oldest of ten children, born to Evelyn and Harold Judge.
Our Mother married our Father Lionel Charles Williams in 1953 and went on to have seven children of their own.
Mom was a natural beauty with a touch of grace. I always thought that my mom was the Queen. She kept an immaculate home and children. She was a self-taught baker and decorator. She made amazing desserts, could knit anything, sewed and later years cross stitched works of art.
Mom was born in Halifax Nova Scotia. After marrying Dad, they travelled across Canada with the Canadian Air Force, ending in B.C., and retiring.
Mom and Dad bought City Meat Market in Cumberland and ran that for many years.
Later on they sold it and bought the second-hand store next to the meat market. It was called M and W Second Hand for Millie and Willie.
Mom is predeceased by her parents, our Father, 3 brothers and by three sisters. Moms first granddaughter also predeceased her as did one daughter in law.
Mom is survived by seven children, Steve (Madge), Jane (Don), Kim, Colleen (Cody), Linda (Darcy), Bob and Ron & Katie.
She is survived also by 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
We would like to thank the nurses and care aides on Hemlock Wing, for making Moms time special. Also thank you to my husband Darcy and children Kristina and Mathew for helping in any way possible. Thank you also to Dr. Doug Anderson for treating my Mother with love and respect.
Mom was laid to rest at Cumberland Cemetery on December 6th. A possible celebration of her life in the summer to be announced.
