In loving memory ~

Mike was forever a proud Irishman, born right here in Nanaimo, BC on the 2nd day of 1940. He was the 4th born to his parents who would eventually have 15 children! The Nixons were not spared their share of tragedy and that kept him a humble man his whole life.

He married his wife in 1963 and loved her faithfully for over 60 years. A devoted father, he loved to be surrounded by his family, always enjoyed a good nap, and liked his coffee loaded with cream. A treat (even when he shouldn't) and he loved books! He was so well-read, but sometimes a man of few words. His "two cents" often afforded both smirks and side-eye. Mike was smart of mind and mouth!

He was willfully blind for anyone he cared about. If ever he gave you his love it also came with his ear, his shoulder, and a place in his heart forever! Though he was affectionately called "Grumpy Grandpa" he will truly be remembered for his soft heart, the sparkle in his eye (even behind his foggy glasses) and his warm smile.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, his children Darren (Tara), Ian, and Laura (Edwin), his grandchildren Derek, Coral, Tyler, Jessica, Alexa, Michael, Adaiah, and Samuel and his great-grandchildren Madison, Cohen and Sylas. Predeceased by his daughter Kelly.

Michael Cameron Nixon; a wonderful brother, a great uncle, a true friend, a good man.
