1924 - 2002

Mervin Ledwidge of the Comox Valley, B.C. (formerly of Fergus, ON) passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on September 20, 2002.

Merv is survived by his loving wife Norma, whom he was married to for 48 years; his children: Cindy Jackson (John Jackson); Bradley Ledwidge (Nadja Solera); Karen Turner; Sandra Ledwidge (Steve Playford); grandchildren: Adam, Erin, Cory, Spencer, Blake and Brandon; his brother Leslie Ledwidge; and other siblings in Quebec and Ontario; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Loving son of the late Leslie Ledwidge and Catherine Hussey.

Merv was born in Montreal, Quebec on July 21, 1924. He was devoted to those he loved and to his beliefs. He gave life to devotion in his many roles as husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend and patriot to his country (WWII Veteran). We will cherish his loving memories in our hearts always.

The Celebration of Life will take place for Merv at Piercy’s Funeral Home in Courtenay on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at 11:00 am. A reception will be held at Piercy’s immediately following the services.

Merv’s family would like to thank the 3rd floor nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, the pharmacist and staff at Shopper’s Drug Mart, Dr. Dave Musgrave, Home Care and the CV Hospice Society.
