In loving memory ~

Merrion passed away in Courtenay, BC, at the age of 90 years.

She will be missed by her brother John Dugald, daughter Debbie (Paul), son Steve (Lois), and step-son Brian (Louise). She was known as "Gran" to Sam (Kristi), Eric (Krista), Alex, Andrea (Tyler), stepson Ken (Katie), and great grandchildren Waylon, Lincoln, Zachary, Parker, and Sienna. Pre-deceased by her older sister Ann and younger sister Rosemary, and joins her husband Frank in God's loving arms.

Merrion was born in England, and moved to South America with her family as a young girl. Subsequent moves took her to the United States and ultimately to Canada.

She was trained as a teacher, and worked with many children who had challenges, some of whom still remember her today.

The Comox Valley was her home for the last 40 years, and she loved the area and all of the opportunities it provided. She was an avid gardener, skier, runner, and lover of dogs. Merrion was a long-time member of St. Peter's Anglican Church and her faith sustained her throughout her life.

We would like to thank Christine, Sheelane, and Ivana for their friendship and loving care in Merrion's later years.

At the family's request, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to some of Merrion's favourite charities: You Are Not Alone (YANA), African Community Technical Service Society (ACTS), L'Arche Canada, or Youth for Christ.
