MOYE, Maurice Henry


Maurice passed away peacefully at age 90 after a brief stay in St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born, September 7, 1914 and lived in Vancouver, B.C. for the first 61 years of his life. He worked as a fireman in that city rising to the rank of Chief of Rescue and Safety. Maurice and his beloved wife Hazel moved to the Comox Valley in 1975. Throughout his life Maurice was an active bandsman, playing in the Fireman’s Band and from his teen years on, playing in the Salvation Army Band. He was brought up as a Salvationist and was very active in the church, first in Vancouver and then at the Salvation Army in Courtenay.


Maurice was predeceased by Hazel, his wife of 52 years, brother Sid (Effie) and sister Doris (Arnie). He is survived by his daughter Carole (Clayton), son Ted (Ann), grandsons Steven (Coleen), Kevin (Vicky), Scott (Krista) and Drew, great-grandchildren Aldon, Kristi, Amanda, Zachary, Conner, Madison, Jordan, Kaitlyn.


There will be a Memorial Service at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at the Salvation Army, 1580 Fitzgerald Ave., Courtenay, B.C. In lieu of flowers please make your donation to the Salvation Army, Comox Valley, the money from which will be used to benefit those in the area. Arrangements have been entrusted to Piercy’s - Mt. Washington Funeral Home.
