Maud Mary Adams Fullerton, (Carnie)


Born in Aberdeen, Scotland on January 22, 1916 to Alfred Blanchard and Maud Mary Carnie, Maud immigrated to Canada in 1958 with her husband, Rev. John Fullerton, and her family in response to a call from the United Church of Canada. They retired and moved to the Comox Valley in 1980.

Maud is predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Maud, her infant sister, Annie Adams Carnie and her husband, John.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean and husband, Frank Shepherd of Courtenay, B.C. and her son, Peter Fullerton of Rossland, B.C. Maud also is survived by grandson, John Shepherd (Barbara) and their children, Cole and Justin of Courtenay; James Shepherd (Lisa) and their children, Matthew and Danielle of Victoria; Alexander Fullerton of Grande Prairie, Alberta and fondly remembered by Peter’s step-children Stoya and Jeremey MacLeod.

A private memorial will be held after the return of grandson, James from the Sea of Oman, where he is deployed with the Canadian Navy on the HMCS Winnipeg.

All the family wishes to show their gratitude to the staff of Oceanview Extended Care Unit of St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Comox, B.C. for their loving and solicitous care of their Mum, granny and great granny since 1994.
