Mary Rose

passed away peacefully on June 28th, 2003 at Glacier View Lodge, Courtenay, BC. Mary was born in Seven Persons, AB on May 31st, 1914, the fifth of nine children. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Lucille Logelin; her husband Jim in 1982; and her brothers Frank, John, Charlie, Joe, Jim and George.

She will be remembered and sadly missed by her four children: William (Gaynor) Dawson, Cochrane, AB; Lucille (Garry) Richardson, Comox, BC; Verona (Philip) Gladstone, Skidegate, BC; and John (Heather) Dawson, Campbell River, BC. Mary is also survived by her sister Ellen Dylke, Daysland, AB; and her brother Ben (Eve) Logelin, Youngstown, AB. Left to treasure her memory and to live her great legacy are her 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was passionately devoted to her family. She also took great pleasure in working on her beautiful puffed quilts and various crafts, which she generously donated to local charities.

Family and friends will be gathering for prayers on Thursday July 3rd, 2003 at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 4th, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.. Both services will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Campbell River, Father Joseph Killoran and Father Bill MacDonald celebrants. A reception will be held in the church hall following the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Campbell River Food Bank (250-286-3226). Mary’s family would like to thank the staff at Glacier View Lodge for their years of loving care. Arrangements were entrusted to PIERCY’S FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM of Courtenay, BC.
