In September, 1940, she married Roy and moved to Mill Bay where he was working. Shortly after, the couple moved to the Comox Valley to take over the Genge family dairy farm on Ibbotson Road where they raised their family and became involved in community activities. Marguerite was a Charter Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a Life Member of the Fallen Alders Community Club, a thirty-year member of the Women’s Institute and a current member of St. George’s United Church Ladies Aid. Marguerite was an avid gardener who loved flowers, especially roses. She was fond of needlework and enjoyed tatting and quilting. A gracious hostess, Marguerite was happiest when entertaining her many friends. She will be missed by all those who knew her.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Helmer. A Celebration of Marguerite’s life will be held at St. George’s United Church on May 7, 2003 at Wednesday, May 7, 2:00 pm.
