Westfall - Margaret Elizabeth “Marg” of Courtenay passed away peacefully with her daughters and friends at her bedside on Sunday, April 14, 2002, age 69. Predeceased by her parents Charlie and Esther Robertson and brother Neil Robertson of Gainsborough, Sask. and her life partner Bob Gray. Marg is survived by her children Darlene Letendre and Robert of Victoria, Karlyn Kinnee and Dan of Courtenay, Roxanne (Billy) Skibo of Maple Ridge and Dwayne (Sandy) Westfall of Campbell River and by her grandchildren: Michael, Richard, Anthony, Andy and Michelle. Also survived by her sister-in-law Marvine Robertson and many nieces and nephews living in Manitoba, and by her lifetime friend Thelma Anderson; because of Mom and Thelma’s friendship and adventures together; they were often referred to by her children as Thelma and Louise. Mom loved her travels with Thelma, ten pin bowling and a good Bingo game. She loved gardening and watching her flowers bloom. A strong independent woman with high values, she lived her life with honesty and determination always ensuring everyone in her life was well looked after. As owner and president of United Cabs; many of her employees became a second family to her. A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 11:00 AM at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD, Courtenay with Reverend Lance Woods officiating. At 4:30 p.m. on Saturday there will also be a Celebration of Marg’s Life Gathering at the family home; 2840 Comox Road (The Dyke Road) in Courtenay. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Comox Valley Unit, #102-1509 Cliffe Ave., Courtenay, BC, V9N 2K6.
