MacGregor was born in Saskatoon, on July 9th, 1932 where he grew up and graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. His career was in the pulp and paper industry. He began his employment with consolidated Bathurst in Grand-Mére, QC where he met his wife, before moving to Quebec City, Toronto and Vancouver. While living in Vancouver, he worked and consulted in the industry at various mills in B.C. and Washington, including Elk Falls in Campbell River and Port Mellon on the Sunshine coast.

The family thanks Dr. D. Bowler, Dr. J. Chartrand and Dr. S. Lundy for their expert care. Greg received great care from all of the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
