Lloyd passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord October 22, after a lengthy illness at Glacier View Lodge surrounded by his loving family.

Lloyd was born August 24, 1914 in Wirdum, Friesland, Holland. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 with his wife Alice and five children to start a new life. He was a man of many skills - electrician was his trade. An excellent carpenter, mechanic, and worked for the railroad many years in Europe and served his country during the war years. Gardening was his passion in life which produced beautiful products wherever they lived. A talented artist he was indeed. He painted and drew pictures whatever came to mind. His greatest love in life was his wife of 52 years, his children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife in 1997. Survived by his five children: Alice Clark, Rita Jones, Al Vanderheide, Rick Vanderheide, Larry Adams, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Holland.

The family extends their sincere thanks to many friends for their support, and a special thank you to the nursing staff at Glacier View Lodge and Cumberland Facility where Melany was a very special friend and nurse to Lloyd.

No funeral service by request. A Memorial Tea will be held at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Clark, 2800 Cumberland Road on November 16 from 11 - 2 pm.

Piercy’s Funeral Home in charge of Cremation. If friends so desire, a donation to the Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer Society, or Heart Foundation can be made.
