Corbett, (Lillian) Mae
Born in Timmins, Ontario on February 11, 1929, Mae passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on June 21, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, British Columbia after a lengthy illness.
She grew up in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, met and married Jim Corbett on February 12, 1949. They raised a family of three girls and two boys. They moved from Ontario to British Columbia in 1963. Mae lived for the past year in Courtenay, BC with her daughter Sandra and husband Gil.
She is predeceased by her parents Cecilia and Albert Young, husband Jim Corbett and daughter Brenda Gee.
Mae is sadly missed and survived by her loving dog Smokey, her sisters Sylvia ‘Honey’ (Moe) Young, Irene (Wilf) Lavigne, brothers Carl (Susan) Young and Bud (Cecile) Young, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, all in Ontario. Daughters Linda (Keith) McPherson of Tsawwassen, Sandra (Gil) Davidson of Courtenay, sons Jim (Lynn) Corbett of Woss, and John Corbett of Courtenay. Grandchildren Darlene (Lee) Tolmie, Maelene (Rod) Leeson, Dean Beech, Naida Robinson, Chris Kruz, Raymond Corbett, Janelle Corbett, Rebecca Corbett, Kyle Corbett, Tina Harper, Cindy (Dave) Dempsey, Tanya Gee, David Gee and 19 great grandchildren. Longtime companion Art Belt of Kelowna, BC, stepchildren Marilyn (Larry), Marlene and David (Susan), and several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. And many close and cherished friends.
Celebration of Mae’s life to be held at Piercy’s Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 5, 2003 with a Garden Party Reception to follow for all family and friends at the home of Sandra and Gil Davidson.

Forsyth - Lena, aged 86 of Comox, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Friday, June 20th, 2003. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her sons James (Alice) Forsyth of Campbell River and Tim Forsyth of Rochester, N.Y., as well as 6 grandchildren. Lena moved to the Valley 14 years ago and was a member of the d’Esterre Seniors, an accomplished watercolour artist and an avid reader. She will be forever remembered by many dear friends.
