In Loving Memory ~

Passed away peacefully after a short illness, on August 31, 2023, at the age of 74 years in the Comox Valley Hospital.

Lilian was raised in Cumberland from the age of 3. She attended Cumberland Primary and Junior Secondary High Schools, graduating from Vanier High School in 1968.

She received a degree in Commercial Art from Selkirk College. After a stint in the interior in 1983, Lilian came home to Royston. Lil filled her days with caring for elderly parents, working various valley businesses and being a member of Co-Val. She proudly appeared in Hello Dolly, Carousel and Jesus Christ Superstar.

After the death of her parents, she moved back to Cumberland in 2002. She took such joy in her neighbourhood and her little house. She talked to all walkers and pet owners who passed by and loved decorating for holidays. Lilian remained an artist all her life, known for floral arrangements and costume jewelry.

She was a girlie girl - hair, makeup, nails, and jewelry. WHEN IN DOUBT, JUST BLING IT OUT.

Lilian was predeceased by grandparents Thomas and Eliza Banks, Cumberland Pioneers. Parents Charles and Lillian Cousins and June Carniel and George Beck and by brother Christopher in 2016.

She is survived by her family: Mara, Sean, Makayla, Mason, Steven (Nanci), Tim (Trina) and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Her family would like to thank all her close friends for all the kindness they have shown her, especially Barb and Wayne.

Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Cumberland Foodshare.
