Leta Mavis CHURCHILL (Janes)
Mar. 10, 1915-Apr. 4, 2002
Mavis was the youngest daughter of Frederick and Ellen Janes and was born in the pioneer farmhouse in Grantham. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 65 years Hiram, her daughter Maureen (Malcolm) Morrison, her sons Barry (Faye) Churchill and Lyall (Iris) Churchill. Her grandchildren Lorne (Susan), Darryl and Laureli Morrison, Leah Churchill, Gina (David) Farrell (Churchill) and Broc and Rhonda Churchill. Her great grandchildren Greg, Lisa, Kate, Dawson, Olivia, Mariah, Maddison, Lauren, Liam and Tienna. Her little great great granddaughter Halle Mavis Anne.
Her last birthday party was celebrated with her youngest great grandchild Liam who shares the day with her. Mavis also leaves her beloved brother David Janes plus numerous nieces and nephews. Mavis was so proud of being on the Tsolum girls basketball team who won the BC championship in 1931. Also her climb to the top of Mt. Albert Edward. She will be remembered by a lot as the “cocoa lady’ at Tsolum School. Mom had a very busy fulfilling life with her family and friends and we will miss her so very much.
There will be no service by request.
The family wishes to thank the staff and Doctors at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their compassionate care given Mom during her short stay and passing. Thanks Donna for being there.
