Of the Comox Valley passed away suddenly on July 20, 2002, age 37. Larry is predeceased by his parents, Trevor and Marlene Hawkins. He is survived by his wife Kim, two daughters Rebecca and Sarah, two step-daughters: Jessica and Nicole, grandson Austin, sisters Cindy (Don) Hughes, Debbie Hawkins (Bill Moore), Robert (Mike) Hughes, Martina Hawkins (Brian Povey) and many nieces and nephews who loved their ’Uncle Larry’ very much.


Larry was born in Chatham, New Brunswick and moved to the Valley with his family in 1969. He graduated form Vanier in 1982 and attended BCIT for a year. Larry then joined the Military and served with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry, he received a Peace Keeping Medal for his services in Cyprus.


Larry was also a long time member of the Teamster’s Union where he worked at Trueline Concrete with his buddies for the past 11 years.


Larry was an avid outdoorsman, and loved camping, hiking, fishing and swimming. His 2 young daughters Also loved the time spent with their dad and his outdoor activities. Larry was very involved with genealogy and spent many years compiling a detailed history book of the family.




Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
