Wood, Keith William
8 April 1983 - 17 July 2004
Keith Wood, much loved and loving son, brother, grandson and friend, passed away suddenly from natural causes in Fort McMurray, Alberta on July 17th.
Keith, with his identical twin brother Andrew, was born in the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. He and his family moved to the Comox Valley in 1991 where he attended Airport Elementary and Robb Road Junior School. He graduated from Highland Secondary in June 2001.
Keith was always filled with a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world, especially nature. He was always kind and thoughtful, taking great joy in helping others. Keith’s great passions were in the outdoors: fishing, hiking, boating, skiing and the stars. He loved animals, especially his dog Buster. Keith was a great help on the family farm and often showed our cattle at the Fall Fair. Keith led an active life and belonged to 4H, Air Force Cadets, Comox Valley Astronomy Club and various school clubs and bands. He spent his last two years n Calgary and Fort McMurray where he was working at the time of his death.
Keith is profoundly missed by his parents, Barry and Gina (Georgina) Wood, his brothers Andrew and Stuart, his grandparents, Les and Betty Wood of Victoria and Francis and Elizabeth Barthropp of West Vancouver, as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held for Keith on Wednesday, August 4th at 2:00 pm at Comox United Church, 250 Beach Avenue, Comox, Rev. D’Arcy Lade officiating. Reception to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Comox Valley Presbyterian Church, 725 Aspen Road, Comox.
