In loving memory ~
It was only two years ago when my brother Craig and I (Barbara) wrote about our Dad's (Eugene) legacy. Our Mom, Joyce, asked us to do the same for her but to make sure it was short.
Our Mom was a remarkable woman. Some of her happiest times were growing up on a farm in Granum, Alberta which suited her love of nature, independence and adventurous spirit. In her early twenties she joined the RCAF and travelled across Canada until her final posting took her to Claresholm, Alberta where she met and married our Dad. In those days, married women had to leave the military, and she gave up a career of her own to raise a family.
After living throughout Canada and serving their country, Courtenay became their home for the last twenty-eight years.
Mom was intelligent, creative and always ahead of her time.
During her last two years, she loved Formula One racing, all manner of documentaries, politics, and good food.
We, Craig, Barbara and son-in-law Dale, and her friends,
will miss her wit, laugh and amazing smile.
