In loving memory ~

Joy left us peacefully on April 18, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Joy was born in St.Paul's Hospital in Vancouver on March 4, 1939 and lived her childhood between Vancouver and Quadra Island. In 1944 her parents purchased land on Quadra Island which was eventually developed into April Point Resort.

Joy went on to marry George Donaldson and they lived their early life in Prince George before settling in Comox where they purchased and ran Super Valu for 32 years. Joy loved being of service to the public and has many fond memories working with the staff at Super Valu.

Joy was part of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for over 50 years and loved all of her sorority sisters. Joy also loved being part of her hard of hearing group.

Joy has left us to be with her beloved brother and best friend Eric. Joy was predeceased by her Mother Phyllis and Father Philip and siblings Warren, Carl and Thor and stepdaughter Brenda.

Joy leaves behind her loving sons Philip (Suzanne) and Troy (Sarah) along with her stepdaughters Lorna and Cheryn. She also leaves behind her four precious grandchildren that she adored so much Julia, Justin, Jenna and Tyler.

Joy would like to thank Dr. Anderson and Dr. Booth for their years of care and to the staff in the CVH for her care while in hospital.

Celebration of Life scheduled for August 10th at 1:00pm at 3320 Comox Road at the Komoks Band Hall Gymnasium.
